2020 PROGRAM
CINEMATIC ART EXHIBITION
Presented in partnership with the Academy Gallery, University of Tasmania, Launceston.

In the darkened cinema, screen culture has danced with art practice, making the gathered experience of seeing any movie transform into a motion picture gallery displaying the art of shared memories.
The vision behind Cinematic was to bring together Tasmanian based artists that I had a dialogue with about film, or whom engage with cinema in their visual art practice. Through the unique crossover between the School of Creative Arts and Media at Inveresk and the dedication to film from the Tasmanian Breath of Fresh Air (BOFA) Film Festival I was given the opportunity to respond to my own love of film and art in this way. From the whimsical and unique narrative and animation style of Felix Colgrave and Michael Linhart to the poetic cinephotographic works of Troy Ruffels and Justin McShane Cinematic hopes to be a film framed window into the influence of film on art and a celebration of the 10th anniversary of BOFA.
