In 2011, Tasmanians Rob Castiglione and Tristan Derham approached the Aikido Foundation with a proposal to create an Aikido film. This is a Tasmanian film that brings the heart of the modern Japanese martial art Aikido to a wider audience. It demonstrates the beauty in the movement, tells the stories of people that love Aikido and shows the legacy of the teacher Sugano Sensei in Australia.

King Island filmmaker Nubar Ghazarian wanted to tell the story of the historic King Island lighthouse’s construction from 1860 to 1861. The dramatised documentary tells the story through the perspectives of four different characters and the film shows the skill and resourcefulness of the builders 150 years ago.
