CÉSAR AWARDS – BEST FILM 2016

Fatima moves from her Moroccan village at the age of 20, to live with her husband in France. Now, 20 years on, she is divorced and works as a cleaner to support her two teenage daughters. Fatima still speaks French poorly and is constantly frustrated by her daughters, her pride and joy, and her greatest source of worry. One day, she takes a fall on the stairs and, while on leave, begins to write to her daughters in Arabic, putting into words that which she has never been able to express in French.

“Fatima is a movie that demands to be seen about a woman who demands to be heard. She captivates.”
