The Inveresk and York Park Precinct, once Tasmania’s largest industrial site as a Railway Workshop site, is now the major cultural heart of the town. Graciously lined with trees it is the home to BOFA’s 4 main screening venues, The Blue Cafe, Railway Cafe and extensive parking. A unique and beautiful home for BOFA film Festival
A. The Tramsheds
With a film audience capacity of 390 people, the Tramsheds Auditorium features tiered seating and the latest state of the art audio and visual technology with a 5.7m wide movie cinema screen.
B. The Annexe
A purpose built theatrical space with a 148 seat main theatre, the Annexe is part of the University of Tasmania’s School of Visual and Performing Arts. It also houses our Festival Lounge where you can enjoy fine wines and food between screenings.
QVMAG, one of Australia’s finest regional museums, is also a screening venue for BOFA. The Nualla O’Flaherty theatre seats 66 in comfort, with the Railway Café next door for some refreshment between screenings.
D. School of Architecture & Design Theatre
This 120 seat theatre is our home for Action Sessions and the more interactive part of our programme. It is very well situated next to the Annexe where food and wine can be had at the Festival Lounge between screenings.
